Biography
My name is David Paul. I am currently a track and field coach at Central Washington University, where I have recently complete my master's degree in Athletic Administration.
This site was created in order to satisfy my graduate project requirement, but it has also given me loads of knowledge and pleasure to learn many new strategies for developing athletes and also my own personal knowledge.
My background is mostly related to track and field. In high school I was a three sport athlete (football, wrestling, and track) and I competed at Eastern Washington University in Track and Field. Post collegiately, I competed in the hammer throw and participated in 4 consecutive U.S.A. Championships, including the Olympic Trials in 2008.
I many years of experience in athletics and have worked with many different coaches. In doing so, I have experienced many different coaching personalities, some more positive and productive than others. I have also experienced many competitions and seasons where I have struggled with mental skill, confidence and self-esteem. It is because of these experiences that I decided to search for more information about mental training and development. Hopefully this information can help others find new techniques and strategies for improving themselves and the athletes they mentor.
Thanks for visiting,
David Paul
